It's Wild Rose Classic time once again!
EXHIBITORS: Please read the Show Book, and then enter your birds or eggs here: Poultry Show Entries The Wild Rose Classic has gained a reputation for well-organized shows with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere to ensure a fun experience for first time and well-seasoned exhibitors alike. If you've been thinking about exhibiting some of your birds, don't wait for another opportunity! This is the one to attend! SPECTATORS: There will be plenty to see and do all day Saturday, whether you are competing in the bird or egg shows or just bringing the family out to view birds, shop the vendors and enjoy the day. Back for its second year, the Pullet Pageant is a rare opportunity to bid on a wide variety of beautiful birds to grace your own coop...and they are ALL FEMALES! More bird shopping opportunities await in the Exhibitor sales area. Public Admission: There will be a small admission fee of $2.00 per person charged at the door to help offset some of the costs of hosting this event.

Bird Buying and SellingA sales area will be available for buying and selling birds during show hours. Exhibitors may pay for a sales stall when submitting their other show fees.
Welcome VendorsIf you would like to participate as a vendor, 10 x 10 stall spaces are available for $25.00. It’s a low cost, high impact opportunity to market your products, crafts or artwork. It's also an excellent way to promote your brand and network with potential customers.
Public viewing hours are from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm on Saturday only. Vendors will need to supply their own table and display materials. If you would like to inquire about reserving one or more vendor stalls at this year's Poultry Show, please email us at: [email protected] |
JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP
The Junior Showmanship competition has quickly become a highlight at our shows, for participants and spectators alike! It is a chance for the kids to be in the spotlight as they demonstrate their poultry knowledge and handling ability. This competition is open to anyone from age 4 to 17 years of age. There are no entry fees or costs involved, and special prizes will be awarded.
General Information:
Showmanship competitors are not required to have birds entered into the regular Junior Show classes. Birds used for Showmanship do not need to adhere closely to breed standards since the birds are not being judged. The bird should be in “show condition” meaning clean, healthy, well-feathered, and free from external parasites.
SCORING
Scores will be tallied according to level of competence in the following categories:
Handling: Contestants will be judged according to their ability to hold and handle their bird with skill and confidence. This will be demonstrated to the judge by correctly removing the bird from the cage, and correctly inspecting the anatomy of the bird (i.e: spread the wings, examine keel, beak, toes) and returning the bird to the cage (head first).
Knowledge Testing: Participants will be asked questions appropriate to their level of experience. Questions will range from specifics about the breed they are using for showmanship, to general poultry knowledge and their understanding of the Standard of Perfection.
Contestants are asked to dress neatly, be attentive, courteous and remain professional throughout the competition.
Junior showmanship is a fun way to for kids to be actively involved in poultry shows and demonstrate their poultry skills and knowledge. If you have a child who would like to take part in Showmanship, just let one of the committee members know on the day of the show. Stop by the Show Reception desk to register your children and find out when and where to meet.
