In 1986 the program was started involving six breeds of chickens, maintained unselected. Rare breeds and random bred strains currently housed at the Poultry Research Facility were partly from Agriculture Canada Research Stn. in Ontario and partly from Dr. Crawford's U of Saskatchewan flocks maintained as unselected populations since 1965. Two strains of Shaver birds (Barred Rocks and Rhode Island Reds were donated to the program in 2003). Hatching Eggs and Baby Chicks available. Contact us about shipping options. |
